1Description
I led the technical and logistics organisation of the first Brazilian edition of the LeRobot Arm Hackathon — an international event run by Hugging Face as part of the LeRobot initiative, following editions in Paris, New York and Shenzhen. Held at Ágora Tech Park (Fab Lab Joinville) from June 13–15, 2025, through a partnership between Zion Robotics and Fab Lab Joinville.
Eight teams were selected from applicants through a selection process, each with 3 to 5 members, to work with two physical robotic arms — a LEADER and a FOLLOW — building language-model-based solutions to execute tasks from natural-language commands. Ahead of the event, I ran two preparatory workshops (WarmUp) covering the Hugging Face platform, the LeRobot ecosystem and Action-Conditioned Transformers.
The venue stayed open 24 hours a day from Friday through Sunday, with full catering, transport and lodging at UFSC arranged for the teams. Prizes included a local award from Fab Lab Joinville plus €15,000 in international prize money for the most-voted solution worldwide, and recognition within the Hugging Face community — part of the hackathon's global map of editions.
